Fanatics Adding Michael Allen Baked Goods to Their Market

November 21, 2011

Pastry Chef Michael Allen

Tucked into the Brooklyn neighborhood of Clinton Hill is a remarkable pastry shop called Desserts by Michael Allen. Allen, the pastry chef, is a second generation baker who has already shown his talents at the renowned Water’s Edge, Essex House and even the United Nations. He has been able to expand and perfect his art over the years while extensively traveling throughout the US and in other countries around the world.

Michael Allen’s latest venture is a partnership with the owners of Fresh Fanatic Market and Café. Fanatic is a huge, 7,000 square foot boutique supermarket which features natural and organic foods and an amazing array of upscale but affordable groceries and organic produce and other food. Fanatic also offers artisanal cheeses, fresh seafood, meats and more.

The partnership between Allen and the Fanatic Market seems perfect. The expert pastry chef specializes in creating fresh and vibrant baked goods, often emphasizing gluten-free creations.

Michael Allen is excited about the proposition, and said that the name of the market, “Fresh Fanatic,” is a perfect name because they really are “fanatics” when it comes to bringing great food to their customers.
